Office of Research and Development (ORD) is responsible for development of VHA policy related to research programs, development and implementation of educational programs in support of ORD’s research mission, and allocation of appropriated medical and prosthetic research funds to medical facilities.

Office of Research Oversight

  • The Office of Research Oversight ( ORO) serves as the primary VHA office in advising the Under Secretary for Health on all matters of compliance and assurance regarding human subjects protections, animal welfare, research safety, and research misconduct.

National Institutes for Health Office of Extramural Research
